Area Law Enforcement
Approximately fifty cars have been marked with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the German town of Hanau close to Frankfurt, according to authorities.
Vehicles, exterior walls and mailboxes were vandalized, sometimes with prohibited symbols, they stated in a release.
Police state they were notified in the late hours on Wednesday evening, when a man observed that a automobile in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been covered with a reddish fluid.
The liquid had been applied in the shape of a Nazi symbol, they added.
Law enforcement then located numerous other marked cars and residential walls in the adjacent neighborhood.
Swastikas are prohibited in Germany under legislation banning the public display of symbols from the Nazi era.
Officials state initial examinations suggest the fluid was probably human blood.
"There is still no clue as to where it came from; authorities are presently not informed of any injuries in relation with the incident," they commented.
Local authorities announced they were attempting "to solve the incident" and have appealed to the community for tips.
An important political figure commented the vandalism rendered him without words and required to be resolved quickly.
"This incident affects the core of Hanau and revives the pain of the extremist attack in 2020," he stated on a platform, referring to the murder of nine victims by a gunman aiming at people of foreign heritage in February 2020.
