Similar to the recent storm hit the north-west the previous evening, Manchester City swept United away at the Etihad Stadium. It was a emphatic three-nil victory for the City coach's side thanks to goals from Knaak, Bunny Shaw and Hemp. It was a result that clearly signaled their title credentials as they consolidated their position at the league summit.

This scoreline signalled back-to-back WSL losses for Marc Skinner’s side for the initial occasion since spring 2024, putting them a significant margin off the table toppers with their championship aspirations in serious doubt.
